In Uganda for close to two decades, FRES Solar has been at the forefront of transforming lives through clean, reliable, and affordable solar energy. What began as a mission to bring light to undeserved communities has evolved into a movement of empowerment, resilience, and opportunity.
Over the years, the impact of solar energy access has transcended just lighting and moved to fueling entrepreneurship, improving healthcare and fostering access to quality education.
With over 500 schools lit by FRES Solar, children now study late into the night, computer labs are powered thus opening doors to better academic performance and brighter futures.
Over 250 health facilities powered by FRES Solar, doctors and nurses can keep critical equipment running and preserve life-saving medicines, ensuring better care for patients even after sunset.
Enabling new business startups especially for youth and women – this is due to the Energy as a service model that Fres Solar pioneered in Uganda which requires a low upfront cost and the rest of the money is used to start up business or add more capital to existing ones hence Over 2000 Small businesses connected to power and extend their operation hours, increase income, create jobs, and fuel local economies.
Over 2500 Families connected with solar home systems save money previously spent on kerosene and instead invest in food, education, and long-term growth.
At the same time, our work contributes to Uganda’s fight against climate change. By reducing reliance on fossil fuels, FRES Solar avoids over 1,560 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually thus promoting environmental sustainability for future generations.
FRES Solar is redefining the solar landscape not just by powering homes, but by powering futures. With over 5000 clients, Every installation is a step toward dignity, opportunity, and resilience.
